Don't be confused with the head lice, which is a parasite."The lice can be transferred from one person to another, but are more likely to infest people who have lash extensions." Dr. David Simimi, an oculoplastic surgeon tells CBS Los Angeles (source).

Normally,  the eyelash extensions take 3 to 4 days before they are replaced. And medical care professionals explain that this allows dirt and dead skin cells to gather around the eyelash area, which provides a nice breeding home for the growth of lash lice.

"We recommend Tea tree-based cleanser. Any cleanser that has a diluted form of Tea tree, and it is a good idea to use on a daily basis."  Dr. Malik explains.

Tea tree oil is one of the proven and most crucial plant-based oil extracted from Tea tree, which is known for its soothing, antimicrobial, antioxidants, anticarcinogenic, and anti-inflammatory benefits.

The secret behind using Tea tree oil, in this case, is to inhibit or prevent the growth and spread of lash lice through the antimicrobial action of Tea tree oil.
